Please

I want to believe

 

someone will need me
for this I will have to wait and see
what doesn't happen
may never occur
without someone's
belief and that is for sure

 

belief is my weapon
filled with kindness and love
it denies being a weapon
like a hand with no glove

 

wanting others to need us
is not selfish or vain
it is simple and complete
as coming in out of the rain

 

I didn't start to believe
I was too busy for that
never taking the time
to just stop for a chat

 

even the words that I use
I want to believe will be heard
please don't let it happen
if someone gives me the bird

 

I want to be understood
and believe that I can
I just want to feel love
from anyone who wants to be a fan

 

if you hear of my plea
please try to believe
I would also like to share
with those wanting to care
that my need is there
also here and everywhere
