Religion

Religion

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

and wars

"
Religions are a blessing
for those whom they save
Be wary if you suggest
religion can make you a slave

Your questioning of religion
could be a belief has taken its place
It will help to understand
there are problems you will face

When many have a strong belief
you have no need to be saved
There might even be some devil
who has you enslaved

Beliefs are very strong
and cause much confusion
Very few can accept
any form of intrusion

Control is one behavior
often essential to a belief
Causing a negative environment
that allows little relief

What is anyone to do
about control they do not want
How do they deal with the pressure
some conventions flaunt

Everyone has found out
the effects some choices cause
Even to not supporting
some of the country-wide laws

So keep a low profile
and believe whatever you will
But do not offend anyone
who needs someone to kill
