Thoughtful Choices

for pleasure

One's choice of entertainment
 Speaks to the inner heart
We know of the containment
 That has affected us from the start

 

We heard what we were supposed to learn
 We needed this in order to be okay
What others did was not our concern
 About this there was little to say

 

Our choices have determined our future
 Which we have been living with joy
No one should ever question you
 Unless their goal was to destroy

 

Everywhere we look, we see
 How different the others are
That is what make us special
 At least this has been true so far

 

Reading writing and study
 Is how  we search for the truth
It makes every day more interesting
 As it has been since our youth

 

We have to live our life as we see fit
 It is all about what we choose
Anything other than a thoughtful search
 There will be very much to lose

 

Fulfilling this promise to yourself
 Makes every day a new pleasure
What more could anyone ask
 Than to take life's full measure

 

Facing our own judgement now
 Has far less chance for regret
Doing the best for yourself today
 Is the best that it will ever get
