The Old Raven

The Old Raven

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

is still here

"

Email isn't free
since nothing will ever be
We use it to see
if what will be will be

Fools rush in
where angels fear to tread
Certain things we did
we know that now are dead

If you have moved on
we are now glad to let you know
This day will soon be gone
for all who are not slow

You should know
they don't care
Because life isn't fair
there I said it right there

Get up and bar the door
that's what the door is for
To keep out unfriendly people
before and evermore

The Raven tried to tell you
but you wouldn't listen
He knew that you
were too busy kissin

So let her go
so we can start the show
It begins tomorrow at twelve
in case you didn't know

On the second
the fools will be gone
You knew that all along
or do think I was wrong
