Known and Unknown

Known and Unknown

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

free to write

"
Fortunate are we
to know what we cannot see
With our minds eye alone
it allows us to be free

We travel to places unknown
whether young or grown
In the company of friends
and even going alone

Certainty in our mind
about the opinions we hold
With thoughts that are brave
and some very bold

Knowing you are here
free to think any thought
Enjoying this condition
the awareness has brought

Reading between any lines
all judgements are your own
Free from questioning
because you are alone

When someone tries to tell you
you cannot go there
It would be a safe bet
you wouldn't even care

A blessing of being alone
you get to devise your plan
It helps you to know
what you want to do you can

But better than being alone
there is a friend who can read
This poem I have written
to surely fill my need
