Friendly or Alone

your choice

The choice to go it alone
is hard for your friends
The problem gets worse
as each relationship ends

 

It is true that one’s mind
has always lived this way
Always hoping to find
something worthwhile to say

 

Thinking about who will listen
when there are only the walls
Much of our life will be missing
when nobody calls

 

In the choices one makes
there are different results
We will try in the future
to avoid the insults

 

What we learned in the past
should benefit us today
Life is less about getting
and trying to get our way

 

Thinking more carefully now
about what I choose
I will certainly remember
there is very much to lose

 

So much of our happiness
comes from the things we do
Reaching out to a friend
the friend will then do it too

 

Every time we share
the sharing all of us need
We will feel less alone
certainly happier indeed
