The Unknown

The Unknown

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

yours to enjoy

"

Fortunate are we
to see what we cannot see
With our minds eye
we can be always free

To travel to places unknown
whether young or grown
In the company of friends
and even go alone

We see how pets feel
and share in their love
We get to cuddle them
with or without a glove

Certainty in our mind
with opinions we hold
Letting us be so brave
and so very bold

I know because I am there
free to think any thought
A happy condition
awareness has brought

Reading between these lines
all judgements are your own
Never to be questioned
because you are alone

Its pointless to tell you
never to go there
If I did I would bet
you wouldn't even care

Do tell me if you can
you know of a better plan

Great wisdom in your poem my friend. I told my kids travel, test life and enjoy life. This is your life. A untested life will wish he had more dances and kiss more lovers with passion. Better to have tried than wished you did. Thank you for the excellent poem. Made me think this morning.
