Learning

Learning

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for all

"

Knowledge requires context
to give awareness a connection
Since all are mental exercises
enabling the brain's reflection

All are couched in verbal terms
in languages far and wide
These acts give us the power
to choose and decide

Being content with all terms
gives anyone peace of mind
Get involved every day
to not get left behind

Behavior without knowledge
is random and confused
Connections to others
seldom if ever are used

Connections become essential
to civilizations beneficial calm
Avoiding retreat to animal behavior
yields a necessary balm

In societies missing these advantages
we see most lying prostrate
Before a mythical God
and filled with hate

When laws are written and enforced
learning is the law of the land
Who but the animals wild
would fail to understand

Seek now to be a teacher
and be one to spread the word
You can be known forever
among the best ever heard

Not bad, but I do get the feeling that a few of the stanzas become a little repetitive near the end, and I think you might be able to rework or cut them in order to make the piece clearer and more compact. You have a good concept here and your execution is very pleasant to read, I just feel like it gets a little weary near the end.
