Lived It

Lived It

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

because I did

"
There comes a time when
 we know we've been there
Not much will change
even the way we care

Caring is learned
in those early years
Someone taught us well
to have no fears

If  this wasn't true
life was very scary
With too many questions
a person unwary

However you got there
look around you now
Some charge ahead
some follow like a cow

The cow isn't wrong
just lasts a long time
Laughing at the losers
engaging in their crime

Whatever one does
it is seen as crime
Everyone is different
and that is just fine

They have been there too
in case you didn't know
Everyone's past was
 their way to go

They cared about what they did
and we will never know
If it was the right thing
and the best way to go
