A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for our existence

"
Food and Your Life

Since food means life
for everything that lives
There is nothing better
 our environment gives

To survive very long
there must be plenty
Eating the wrong food
years may be only twenty

The events that  occur
will  control the time
If events limit the food
we see it as a crime

We know animals adapt
to the ever changing scene
Any food they get to eat
is better when its clean

Getting careless about purity
can shorten an animals life
Some men will forget  this
when they don't have a wife

Women kept our species alive
in case you did not know
What they are doing is still true
to help us thrive and grow

If Mom had been a hunter
 homo sapiens would have died
She had to be a gatherer
this is truth, I have not lied

So every day in every way
show Mom how much you care
Your very existence is due to her
your life she still wants to share

The poem told the truth. We are what we eat. If we listen to dear old mom. Would be a longer and more healthy life. I like the positive ending for the concern of our mother's. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
