2012 Revisited

2012 Revisited

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

because I could

"

Regardless of who you are
this year may be your last
Some will be less fortunate
and experience a shorter past

The time they have of life
is always better than none
Even when the time they have
has only barely begun

Many live a very short time
their memory will not be very clear
But because you can read this poem
you have had a life more dear

The older anyone is today
says they are a fortunate one
Be thankful and give help to others
by sharing some of life's fun

If you like anything in this poem
you could write a few words too
Let me read whatever you write
I will give you a positive review

Your thoughts on paper are a gift
to your heirs who learn to read
Helping them in their struggle
in gaining their power to lead

It will help them to be successful
as you know leaders always are
Your share in how they succeed
will be most significant by far

All it takes is some action
knowing you are doing some good
Everything worthwhile in life
results from the ones who could
