The Money Tree

The Money Tree

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

and you

"
The money tree
one's route to fame
Calling to thee
if you can win the game

Even writers hope
their poems are good
In their effort to cope
they often knock on wood

When they can't think
of the words they need
Sometimes quick as a wink
they get a new lead

Life gives this gift
to those who try
It is an important lift
and we don't ask why

If you ever win
the money tree will pay
Money is not a sin
for anyone who can play

No matter what people say
about where you have been
You can play your way
a continue to do it again

All readers seem to find
pleasure when they write
Other readers are very kind
whether they are black or white

Don't hesitate to start
you will be very glad
Writing is a special art
never making you sad
