A Personal HistoryA Poem by Sam Freelandfor the kidsWe know from reading histories
there were a few who liked to write Their collected thoughts about behavior they thought was right It was even more about how
one could speak of the truth Of what they did when mature and even during their youth We all have had a history
that was our very own But some of our good thoughts will never be known This modesty is a mistake
we learn to believe is good We shouldn't hide our beliefs though some say we should It deprives those who come after
from knowing what we believed Some of them may even wonder how we did what we achieved Family histories are much in demand
our children will know the truth Including some of our failings which were anything but grand If you get the point of this poem
you know that this is the truth Hoping to have been a help to my children in their youth That was the time we were all
wondering about our background With a few good words said now their future may be a bit more sound 10.08.2012
