Care

Some in the world
have more money than they need
Their savings and investments
get labeled a kind of greed

 

They don't look at it that way
they call it planning ahead
So in their future that is coming
they can be leaders instead of the led

 

Saving takes serious sacrifice
though not as much as being poor
The poor may search for the next meal
while savers take a world tour

 

The young will likely desert you
when you reach your elder years
They feel you've had your chance at life
and leave you living with your fears

 

Providing for you own future
is a much better way to pray
Even when some call you selfish
because you haven't given it all away   

 

Promises given in scripture
were made when everyone was poor
Now our ministers drive a Cadillac
and take a world pilgrimage tour

 

Prayer tells us it is better to give
than wanting and waiting to receive
A most beguiling message
to help us all believe

 

If the care you get when you are old
is the care you yourself provide
It will help children learn to save
and then pay for their own ride
