My Game

My Game

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

what's yours

"
My average score is good
I can again do the same
I want to stay in contention
because this is my game

But I want to do better
and will call on my reserves
Along with the effort
it  should calm my nerves

Improving may be hard
so it will take a little more
With more time training
than I ever did before

When I get more results
my prospects will be bright
Just a few more hours
in the dimming light

The effort will be a payoff
when I pass the crowd
I can hear them now
their voices will be loud

Competition is fun
when you give it your all
Give it any less
and you will take a fall

Games are always mental
when winning is your goal
Losing may be easier
but it will take its toll

If my prescription for success
doesn't look good to you
I will show you it can
and that's what I will do
