Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by Samuel W Tarr

Passivity leads to regret
And I've stared into dissapointed eyes
Long enough to know
The time is now

Lost in a haze of revolution
Anarchy, and sociological experiments
Committed under a cloak of madness
Forced by arrogance's dagger

If only I was to accomplish
The simple tricks
How I long for rabbits and hats
Bound by chains, fighting towards air

So now I step down gracefully
And make way for a braver breed
A king to jester, grasping for approval
With a queen left, unsatisfied

I knight thee young scholars
You can lead the battle for the throne
I doesn't mean the same to me
As to you now, as to me then

I retire and move on
Back to my own kingdom
Overrun by the outside influence
For far too long now.

you paint regretful contemplations and the ultimate acceptance well. Keep writing and welcome to the cafe.

Dang thats good; all of it. I most like this stanza:
Lost in a haze of revolution
Anarchy, and sociological experiments
Committed under a cloak of madness
Forced by arrogance's dagger...
Now that realization is set in, where do you go? I'd really like a reply to my question.... ~♥~
