Letter to my future daughter

Letter to my future daughter

A Poem by Salmah Vawda

"I swear by the mountains that hold down this very earth,
that you are more radiant than the choir of angels at your bedside,
and more worthy than any man could ever make you feel.
You're a symphonic blend of fire and water which is what makes you so powerful yet so soft. And when the day comes,
because inevitably it will, that your universe feels like it's splitting in two..
If there's only one trait I could have taught you in all our years, my darling,
it would undoubtedly be the ability to rise in the face of every adversity that tries to belittle you, and realize just how invaluable you are. "
