Reflections

A Poem by Sally Hope
"

All we are, and all we shall be, have nothing to do with what all we were.

"

REFLECTIONS

Have you looked in the mirror, and seen

The ghost that you have hidden underneath?

Have you looked in the mirror, and asked why

The teardrops always outnumber the smiles?

Have you looked into your eyes, and thought:

Why have they gathered sleep and rot?

Have you tried to create a feeble smile on you  face,

But ended up counting your ribs, instead?

Have you seen your reflection under a clear blue sky,

And wondered: Is it the reflection that is obscured, or, am I?

Have you counted the steps to your home,

And found you are a bit further away than you were a moment ago?

Have you lost everything that once mattered in your life,

And found that - yet - you are breathing, and alive?

Have you believed in something so much,

That you forgot the difference between trust and love?

Have you broken your heart, and found

It glues back together once the millionth sun goes down?

Have you ever shut your eyes, and imagined:

If I don’t see the world, then neither can the world see me?

If so, then just know:

You are one of many who will learn from their mistakes.

If not, then just know:

You are the only one who has not started living, yet.

Honey once again i adore your piece.
Suggeztion...there are a couple lines that lose the rhyme..
I use intermittent rhyme a lot..but its scattered and only when there is no other pattern. There is a pattern here..i would stick to it..

But thsts no biggie...did not keep me from loving this clever piece of philosophic poetry! Well done!

And i love the end that has a hopeful and empowering end⭐💗
Good for you mih darlin Mistress Hope.

Love and wishes of empowerment...

This is very thought-provoking. I know many people have looked within themselves and asked these same questions. I certainly know that I have. And, those who have not, are afraid to do so. Human emotions can be quite interesting. Good job!

This is a really beautiful poem it's calming yet it makes you think about what you were what you are and what you'll become it also has a pretty obvious message:we shouldn't be sad when we make a mistake, be it in judgment or be it something we do, and should instead learn from them.

No weakness in the poem. I understand this poem. I don't recognize the face I see today. I got lucky. I became kinder. My ugly face of anger of youth turn mellow with age. I like the places and thoughts create by the outstanding poetry. You are very talented. Please send me read requests. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
