Broken Body

Broken Body

A Poem by Sally Sparrow

Bleeding tongue and sweating palms
Bipolar switch from crazed to calm

Cold, pallid, lifeless cheek
Lack strength, alone, to speak

Pounding heart and beating fists
Puzzles and riddles, the neurons, twist

Dark and foggy, dripping eyes
Blind behind all of the lies

Numb, and red, and broken fingers
Memory of the face still lingers
