The Demonic Child

The Demonic Child

A Poem by Salena Mohammed
"

This about a friend who's life i saved a few years ago

"

The Demonic Child

there she was,

pretending to be a friend.

i talked to her

asking her about the end

the end of the world i mean,

and if she believed in god

but the slow sly stare she gave me

said it all.

i asked her again and said

her only god is the red one,

the one below.

the one who tells her that she's doing everything right,

she told me that she didn't believe in the last day

because her god would make her immortal

and she would last for another dya.

i told her that she was stupid

and worse when i saw her arms,

legs, stomach and tongue,

all cut and skin afraid to be reborn

afraid to be slit like a man's throat.

i tried to talk her out of it

but it was to no avail

especially when she pulled out the music,

Slip Knot, Heavy metal and Linkin Park again

she then pulled out a blade

and before i had a chance

she cut and burst a vein,

and there infront of me, blood began to pore

and down to the hospital she was rushed

before she was no more

we talked to her aftre she was attended to

she paused...tokk a walk and told me,

"There's no turning back!"

i lokked at her and smiled while saying,

i thank my god that you are no more a demonic child.
