Cold night

Left alone in the piercing cold

I try,
I fall,
I cry,
I crawl,
For you have left me out in the cold night
To sway among the stars
How long I thought you were right
But all I wind up with is scars.
As the cold breeze touches my skin
And as the dark wipes my tears,
Trusting you, I realise, was a sin,
For you never ended my fears.
The moon no longer wished to see
The fell state into which I fell
Its mourning face it hides from me
But I have these stars, shining well.
My legs fail to walk further
My eyes start to shut tight
"Oh I need to get farther!"
My heart starts to fight.
Over there in the darkness
I see a little lamp, so bold
I push myself with no willingness
But trip and fall, with not a soul to hold.
You have failed me out in this cold night
To sway among the stars,
As I say goodbye to life tonight,
I realise,
All you gave me was scars...
