Never The Prey, Never The Predator

Never The Prey, Never The Predator

A Poem by Saki

All he can do--all he did was close his eyes

And accept the reality that life isn’t fair.

That there will come a time wherein you’re the prey

And no matter how hard you try

You cannot fight back,

You cannot do anything,

Because you’re not meant to.

As he closed his eyes and gave in to his fate,

He was oblivious to every bite, every cut,

Every piece of him that was being burned.

To him, he’s on the journey to paradise.

Where it’s peaceful,

Where there’s hope,

Where there is happiness never before imagined.

Where you’re never the prey,

Never the predator.

A sad poem but a poem that left me with hope. We can feel helpless and confuse. A excellent poem.
