I have a dreamA Story by Sajini IsraelKingdom may rise and fall and nations may rise against nation but an idea lives forever
Rome was not built in a day, but the idea came in a flash. Killing Osama Bin Laden didn't end terrorism, because before he died he successfully sold his ideas to many gullible minds.
The most powerful thing on earth is an idea. J. F Kennedy once said 'Nations may rise against nations and kingdom against kingdom but an idea lives forever.' The only physical thing that can never die is an idea in motion. The Paris we see today, was envisioned by some creative minds. Looking at the Chinese and Singaporean economy in relation to how it was 40 years ago, you would not dare the potency of an idea. United Arab Emirates at 1950, was an empty desert but today when refer to it, our minds goes to the heart of development. Everyone wanna run to United Arab Emirates,France,China etc. We fail to realize that every flower that blossoms, was once a seed that held firmly to the ground. We search for our treasures afar of forgetting we have a gold mine inside of us waiting to be harnessed. If those great Singaporean leaders ran away in the face of the Economic recession that plagued it, we wouldn't have had the Singapore we have today. Singapore has no mineral resource. They only harnessed and properly utilized their human resources. Why write off Nigeria? Though the ships may be down right now I see a great ray of hope shine through our nation. To have revolution, we need to develop a strong resolution. We can rise from a third world country to be an economic power, if we work on our mindset and conception of our country. I have a dream of a Nigeria where intellectualism is given more reverence than the entertainment industry. I have a dream of a Nation where our children will go to school not just driven by certificate but by desire to apply acquired knowledge to solve problems. I have a dream of a Nigeria, where our young minds would be given a fertile ground to grow their imaginations and a chance to explore their ideas. I have a dream of a nation, where our children will be employed not by the extent of their connection but by virtue of their efficiency. I have a dream of a country, where all our scientific and technological talents are discovered and harnessed. I have a dream of an industrialized Nigeria, where the largest manufacturing companies in the world are situated and will produce models for other companies around the globe. I have a dream of a nation, that will be governed by flexible ideas from young minds. I have a dream of a Nigeria where everyone will love to visit and every citizen will be proud of. As a nation we can proove to the world that the African continent is not a dark continent. If we can believe in ourselves i see Nigeria becoming a center of Economic and technological civilization.Though it may take some time i wanna assure you that as a people we are getting there. © 2019 Sajini Israel |
