Zen-seeking 3 AM Blues

Zen-seeking 3 AM Blues

A Poem by Amanda Granger

Tirelessly I trace the lines
On your face in my mind
And I awake again to find
Once more that you aren’t

Nearby
And I, I’m so tired
But I can’t sleep
While feeling inspired
To weep

Or feel,
Think, create
While my thoughts soar,
Barreling, creasing, wide awake
And I think so much more

When there’s pressure
To not, to cease to be
Alert with wild contemplation
Adrift in the roughest sea
Of worries beyond all imagination

The walls seem tighter,
Like my skin,
And light streams through
The cracks within
And I hope this time you

Will help me push them back again
Face this heart attack again
A strong cacophony detonating
In my sun-dried core, undulating
And deflating to suit my consciousness

Once more until all noise
Becomes noiselessness
Filled from one to zen
With oneness, I blend
And think, at last, no more.

Beautiful. I have written about the same thing.

A strong cacophony detonating
In my sun-dried core, undulating
And deflating to suit my consciousness

I like your word play. This poem is very sweet in a dark way (if that makes any sense). I still loved it :)
