You are My favorite Poetry (part 2)

You are My favorite Poetry (part 2)

A Poem by Amanda Granger

Your skin the smoothest page
Untouched, except the lines
That flow across, in all directions,
Covered in the sweetest sentiments.

You tickle my tongue with gentle rhymes
Alliteration alight all afternoon
Your voice is the cadence marking time
Your touch the rush not fading soon

Your eyes sweet imagery
The gold of summer, green of life
Mixed with subtle aqua, that nectar
That inspires all of life.

Our love the metaphor that keeps
on echoing our aim, the meaning
Set upon your lips, the soft impression
Of your memory on my mind.

Upon my skin your fingers compose
The music our lips and lungs play
As the tempo builds, we release the exhalations
And inspirations of our essence forming one

One breath, to end each line,
One breath drawn deep to start each refrain,
To murmur - to shout - our story
Formed by your subtle wordplay

A never-ending poem I hope to write
With you by my side, a faithful editor,
Prepared to help me fix the little things
And add new volumes to our works

With no end in sight, a steady flow
Of illumination and inspiration
Beyond what I composed alone,
For your words alone for me

Are the greatest inspiration,
The poetry in me.
