I wantA Poem by Amanda GrangerI want to collect your "nothings" and turn them into my everything I want to fill these walls with you your scent, your essence, your you to make up for your absence I want to taste the sky before I die and swim to the bottom of the deepest lake then come up to the sound of screaming: she's alive and receive a hero's welcome for my trouble I want to bask in the glow of eternity with your pen turning me immortal with all its fine strokes and silly references and all these petty words and minor smiles I want to turn the silence into sighs and the hollowness inside of me to fillings and feelings as raw and refreshing as the primordial morning I want to feel something, anything inspired, belligerent, placated, inflated amused, triste, insatiable, inflammable-- alive and in love and in touch with the world I want to be a part (apart) and not only that but to create something beyond that makes a few words on a page turn into parallel realities that begin and end with the one thing I want.
