A New Day...A Chapter by Attoliia
Breanna's POV: I hang some laundry up on a nearby clothes line. I put only a few
clothes up before I sigh in relief about my life now. ‘LaDeja and I finished high school
as best and as fast as we could and moved to the feudal era. For me it was a
bit hard to do for I had to leave behind family and my dog Little Bear, but I
can always visit them if I get too homesick. Life with InuYasha has been good;
I have had to worry about very few things. InuYasha is trying his best to do
what he can and is doing very well. I make sure that he doesn't hurt himself
too badly, and to do that I threaten his dinner. Amazing at how well I can
control him with food. LaDeja seems to be having a good life here to with
Sesshomaru, but I don't ask her about the details. InuYasha and I have a son
now, we named him James, and in truth InuYasha had no choice in the matter of
choosing a name. But he seemed fine with that, I told him he can name our next
son for when we have a daughter I get to name her. LaDeja and Sango think I am
being a little harsh, but I don't see InuYasha complaining. James is a good
boy, but I'm worried that I am babying him too much, InuYasha keeps telling me
to back off and let James grow up. I guess I am just worried about losing him
that I keep him close. One thing is for sure, I'll protect James with my life,
and nothing can stop me from that.’ As
I am putting up the last piece of clothing on the line Sango and Miroku were
walking up to me with their children. "Good morning Breanna" Yelled Miroku, "G-good morning!" I yelled back. "You didn't forget about the play date did you?" Miroku
asked scratching behind his head. "Of course not, I have made plenty of food for snacks, how
could you think I would forget something like this Miroku?!" "W-w-Well you looked a little shocked to see us." "Oh no, you just scared me a little, I was just thinking
about something that is all." I said as I glared at Miroku with a smile
for I proved him wrong. "Now we need to wait for LaDeja." Sango added in. We all
nodded in agreement. LaDeja’s POV “Oka-Sama where are we going?” my children cried I sighed “I told
you already we are going to your aunty Breanna and Uncle InuYasha’s home for a
play date” ‘My life has changed since Breanna and I left home but I think our
parents knew plus it gives me time to spend with my real family and I could
always go back whenever, Sesshomaru and I have two beautiful sons, Shόki looks
exactly like Sesshomaru but he acts more like me while our other son Sháka
looks like a boy version of me but acts like Sesshomaru or in short fraternal
twins. Father loves to spoil them constantly by giving them gifts every time
they come to visit. But I find it cute as how much he loves them; I guess you
could say now that I have married Sesshomaru that I am the Queen of the western
lands.’ “I don’t remember Uncle InuYasha or Aunty Breanna” Shόki asked making a questioned look I smirked “Well it has
been a while you haven’t seen them since
you both were 2” I said as Sesshomaru and I walked on foot leading the way for
Shόki and Sháka on Zuko. After a few hours we reached the village earning hellos from the
villagers who knew me well some were saying how much my kids have grown and how
nice I looked just small talk, we had finally reached Breanna and InuYasha’s
house for the play date. “Hello everyone” I said with a smirk as we all stepped inside the
hut Breanna smiled brightly “Hey!” she yelled her appearance changed since we
last talked her brown short hair is now up to her mid back and she is wearing
the priestess kimono she pulls me into a bear hug I smile and pat her back and
wave to InuYasha who gives me a nod I turn to my left as Breanna lets go of me
and I see Miroku and Sango they both smile and we give one another hugs and I
see on her back is a small infant I gasp and smile “Is this the little one I’ve
heard so much about?” I ask she nods “He’s adorable Sango” she laughs “Thank
you” I feel a tug on the bottom of my long flowing red and black skirt I look
down to see two small girls one on my left is wearing a green kimono with a
small pigtail on her left side of her head and the other on my right is wearing
a pink kimono with a small pigtail on her right side of her head the girls are
both identical and look very much like Sango. “Hmm if I remember correctly you should be Ayame” I said pointing
to the little girl in green “And you should be Yuri” I said pointing to the
little girl in pink they both smiled and nodded I patted them on the head and
let them run off to hide shyly and giggling behind their dad I started to look
around “Where’s James?” I asked Breanna smiled as I then noticed a little head
hiding behind her and once we made eye contact he blushed and quickly hid
behind his mother. I smirked at his shyness “Oh how cute he’s the shy type” I said
walking towards Breanna and squat down to his eye level “Now little one you’re
going to hurt your dear aunt’s feelings” I said softly I could hear Shόki mutter under his breath “Why is the brat hiding for?
We're all family here…” I turned to him quickly and gave him a death glare he
trembled and turned away. I looked back at James with my hands out “Come on, I don’t bite” I
said with a small smile he popped his small head out as Breanna smiled down at
him and patted his head engorging him to go “Go on son” InuYasha said James
nodded and stepped out he looked down at his feet “I-I’m James…” he muttered I
smiled “I’m your aunty LaDeja, I have some friends for you to play with it’s my
two boys, your cousins Shόki and Sháka” Shόki and Sháka stepped towards us, Shόki smirked while Sháka made the same emotionless face as
his father. Breanna squealed as she saw my kids “Oh LaDeja look at them they
are so cute!” she ran up to them and hugged them tightly Shόki attempted to get out of her grasp while Sháka just
stood there with an irritated look on his face I laughed and looked back at
James who was still being shy not once did he look up I stood up and turned to
the kids once Breanna let go of mines. “Well I think it’s time for the adults to catch up, why don’t the
children go out and play” I say looking at them all of them were excited even
James who made a small smile he must have been happy to play with some new
friends well everyone was excited except for my kids they looked bored actually
“But Oka-Sama I don’t wanna you said we’d be able to train today” Shόki whined as Sháka looked at me with no emotion but is
eyes completely agreed with Shόki. I glared down at them earning a smirk from Sesshomaru “Oh, my kids
are disobeying me?” I asked them they trembled in fear and shook their heads
“N-No of course not Oka-Sama!” they said now bowing up and down “Well then be
good little boys and play with your family!” I yelled they nodded as the kids
giggled and ran off “And don’t go off in the forest!” Breanna yelled “They
should be fine Breanna” InuYasha said smirking she nodded but still looked
afraid for their safety. We all sat down by our spouses and started to drink tea Breanna
made for us “So how have you’ve been Miroku, Sango?” I asked looking at them
they both smiled “We’ve been fine it seems as if the world is more peaceful now
that Naraku is gone” Miroku said we all nodded in agreement “Breanna?
InuYasha?” I asked now turning my gaze to them they also smiled “Everything has
been fine” Breanna said smiling InuYasha on the other hand was frowning “What
the hell is wrong with you?” I asked looking at InuYasha as well as everyone
else “Well everything is fine but I wish she would stop babying him so much” he
muttered I laughed “You should have saw that coming InuYasha I mean I even saw
that” everyone nodded in agreement “I don’t baby him! Do I?” she asked looking
at us everyone just looked away with a small smile and a small sweat drop. “How are you and Sesshomaru doing?” Breanna asked changing the
subject I smiled “Fine, the boys want to be as strong as him” I say looking at
Sesshomaru “Oh really How cute!” Breanna said laughing “Pfft, Him strong?” InuYasha muttered “What did you say half
breed?” Sesshomaru growled everyone sighed as they began to yell at each other
“Will you two stop?!” I asked getting annoyed they ignored me and I glared at
both of them but smirked once I noticed the beads of subjugation still around
InuYasha’s neck “Oh Breanna” I said “Yes?” she asked turning to me “I just
can’t seem to remember what that word you always said to InuYasha…” I said
faking a pondering look “Oh! You mean Sit right?” she said and at that instant
InuYasha’s face planted into wooden floor planks I smiled evilly “Oh yes that
word” I said with a soft chuckle Breanna looked a bit shocked and then smiled
“Oh my bad” she said InuYasha slowly lifted his head up and glared at me I only
smiled innocently. Shόki’s POV “Now what shall we play?” both Ayame and Yuri asked excitedly we
all were in a circle thinking with our hands under our chins in thought “How
about we play Heroes?” I asked they all nodded in agreement “But I think we
should go to the forest way more room there!” I said “But Aunty Breanna said we
shouldn’t” Sháka said emotionlessly “Oh come on nothing bad is in the forest!”
I said Sháka sighed and gave in Ayame and Yuri was up to playing in the forest
except for James he was looking unsure “Come on you do what mama tells ya?” I
asked looking down at him he shook his head “N-not all the time!” he said
louder than his shy soft voice “Well ok then let’s go!” I yelled everyone
nodded and we ran towards the forest. James's POV: “Come on, you do what mama tells ya?” Shόki asked looking down at me, he shook his head “N-not all the time” I said in a louder voice than normal. “Well ok then let’s go!” Shόki yelled. Everyone nodded and we ran towards the forest. As we entered the forest my skin started to crawl. I never went
into the forest without Mom or Dad. I kept looking around me for every noise
put me on edge, every shadow made me jump. A rabbit with a big set of ears
jumped out of a bush and landed by my foot. I was so nervous that I stepped
back too quickly and landed on my rear. The rabbit stared at me, as did Shόki, Sháka, Ayame, and Yuri. "Don't tell me you are afraid of a cute little
rabbit?" Ayame asked, as soon as she spoke the rabbit ran into another set
of bushes. "N-no the rabbit just got me by surprise." I
stuttered out. Shόki looked disappointed in my actions,
and didn't believe me. "Come on, let’s go a little farther. James you better
hurry up or we will leave you behind." Shόki spoke aloud. I sigh and think to myself, 'Why am I so nervous? Is it because I'm not with Mom or Dad?
Is it because I am going against their orders? Could it be from the others? I
haven't met them before and they all seem tougher than me. Even Ayame and Yuri,
maybe Dad is right on me starting to train in battle. Mom is completely against
it. She says that I am too young, that I should enjoy being a child and have
fun while I still can.' I lost my train of thought as Shόki said, "This is the perfect spot." He looked proud of
himself for finding a good area to play in. I looked around and saw that is was
a good size clearing, so there is plenty of room to play around in. Ayame and
Yuri squealed in joy for they liked the area also. Sháka looked around but
still showed no facial expressions. "G-good find Shόki." I complimented. "Yes I did a great job. Nothing can stop me!" Shόki exclaimed. Sháka rolled his eyes like he had heard that
line before. Shόki turned to all of us and commanded,
"Let’s play our game!" "I have a question." Yuri asked, "Who plays
who?" Shόki smirked as though he had already
thought out the parts. "James plays the hero, Sháka you will play as the
sidekick of James, Ayame and Yuri you are the damsels in distress, and I will
be the powerful villain." Shόki took a quick breath then looked
at all of us with a smile. We all nod in agreement to our roles, yet I wonder
why Shόki chose me as the hero, he should
know that I can't fight. We took our places, Shόki grabbed three sticks, handed one to Sháka and I, and
kept the third for himself. Ayame and Yuri stood on a
rock and giggled with excitement. "You do know how to fight right?" Sháka asked me
quietly, sensing me becoming uneasy. "I, I uh-" I was cut off by Shόki taking a swing at me. "Pay attention James!" Shόki yelled. I
could tell that Shόki loved to fight, he was full of
excitement. 'Come on James,' I thought to myself, 'Father always talked
about looking for a weakness in their fighting style... But what do I look
for?!' Shόki broke my train of thought when he
took another swing at me. Sháka rushed in
front of me and blocked the attack. "James get up now!" Sháka whispered harshly at me.
I got up on command and tried my best to hold my ground. Sháka moved out of the
way and let me take lead. I wish he would have been the hero. Shόki swung for my head; luckily I ducked in time and back
flipped to gain some space between us. "Nice flip James!" Yuri yelled at me. "You must have learned that from your dad!" Ayame
added in. I nodded at her as a reply not taking an eye off of Shόki. That's another thing Dad taught me. "I'll show you a flip!" Shόki exclaimed as he jumped in the air and did multiple
somersaults in air. I was highly impressed; Shόki straightened out in air and came at me with the stick
pointed at my legs. I timed his decline just right and was able
to dodge his attack, and jump back, away from his second. Shόki was a bit lost for breath and I took a hard swing at Shόki, hard enough to where the wind was being cut through
with the stick and you could hear it, but
stopped it right next to his ear. I couldn't do it; I can't hit him even though
he was trying so hard to hit me. "You should have hit me James." Shόki commented while he smacked my knees. Making me fall to
the ground, "You didn't do as bad as I thought you would. Maybe you aren't such a mama's boy after all. Then
again even your father will follow every word your mother says." "And your father doesn't follow every word your mother
says?" I ask without thought of my words. Shόki thinks about what I said, "Actually he does follow everything she tells him to
do, even if he doesn't want to do it. Though even I'm scared of disobeying
her" "See, that how my Father feels." Shόki and I laugh at our conversation; we both see that our
fathers are similar due to the fact that
they both fear disobeying their wives. Our laughter is cut short when Shόki, Sháka, and I sense a bad aura. Ayame and Yuri scream
in fear as a giant snake slithered into the clearing. "Little children, just what I wanted for my next
meal." the snake demon hissed. It was almost a chore to see the snake for
its green scales blended in with the trees and grass. "Go elsewhere snake!" Shόki yelled jumping in front of Ayame and Yuri to guard
them, Sháka joined his brother. I was getting up to go join them as the snake slithered closer to me and hissed, "My, my, my, we have two human children, two demon
children and then there is you what I find so interesting is that for a
half-breed you barely put off a demon aura, you are more pure than those two
girls over there. One of your parents must be a priestess or priest." "Stop talking like you know me!" I yelled at the
Snake demon. He seemed pleased with himself. "James get over here Stop talking to it, you are only
doing what it wants!" Shόki
yelled to me. The snake slithered closer to me, took a happy sigh and asked, "I bet it is your mother that is the priestess, they
always make good meals. I ate one just as I was getting here; she had brown
hair and green eyes...." His head was getting closer and closer to my
body. I cut him off with, "You're lying... Dad would never let that happen. You
stay away from my Mother!" The snake demon's nose was almost touching my
chest; I swung the stick like I did earlier, though I swung harder this time.
The air swirled around my hand and all around the stick. I hit the snake so
hard that when I hit its snout there was a massive dent. "Why you little brat" The snake demon went into a
rage and tried to eat me whole; luckily Sháka grabbed me and put me by Ayame
and Yuri They kept asking me if I was alright as I watched both Sháka and Shόki attacking the snake demon. I got up quickly and ran to
help them, as I got closer to Shόki and Shόki, they both were knocked to the
ground, and I stood in front of them and tried to guard them until they could
get back up. The snake was about to take a
bite out of us when Aunt LaDeja and Dad attacked the snake demon. Mother ran to
me and held me tightly to her torso, as Uncle Sesshomaru picked up Sháka in one
arm and Shόki in another. Mother and Sesshomaru
took us to Miroku and Sango, Ayame
and Yuri were with them crying. Sesshomaru death glared at Shόki and Sháka, I hope they aren't in too big of trouble.
Mother put me down and turned to the snake demon, pulling out her bow and
arrows. She set the arrow and pulled it back tight. "Never mess with a mother's children!" She whispered
harshly before she let go of her arrow. Mother is a great shot for she got it
right in the head, it backed down enough to where Aunt LaDeja sliced up the
demon without a problem, chunks of it were everywhere as proof. Aunt LaDeja and
Dad walked back to where the rest of us were. Mother was scolding me for going
into the forest and how she told me not too, and blah, blah, blah Dad only
glared at me with his arms crossed and said to mother, "At least he isn't dead. He was trying to fight, I'm
telling you, you are babying-" "Sit Boy" Mother yelled sternly Father's face met
the ground with a huge thud and made a nice hole in the ground. The other children
became afraid of what their mother's would do to them. I look and see that
Sháka and Shόki weren't being left off the hook
either. "I bet it was you Shόki that got the others to follow you into the forest. You were
told to stay out of the forest and for good reason!-" I cut Aunt LaDeja
off and said in a sweet voice, "Sorry to interrupt you but it wasn't Shόki or Sháka that had the idea to go into the
forest..." What was I thinking?! Mother won't let me out of the house for
a week or more, but I don't want them to have all the blame. I should have
tried to convince them to stay away from the forest better. "Then who did?" Aunt LaDeja asked in rage with her
arms crossed. "I did ma'am..." I said with my head hung low. I
glanced at Aunt LaDeja real quick and saw her with a small smirk. I hung my
head low again to try and keep the act going. Mother sighed and suggested that
we all return to the house and call it a day. As everyone was leaving Sháka and Shόki ran over to me and said, "Thanks for the help you gave us back there. Sure it
wasn't much but hey you tried." "One day I want to be at least as strong as you
two..." I hung my head so that my bangs would cover my blushing face. Shόki Scratched behind his head and said, "What do you mean 'at least' you saying you are going
to be stronger than us one day? Good luck with that weakling." The grin on
his face was full of ego yet a hint of sarcasm. I lifted my head up and nodded, "I have to make sure I can keep up with you two in
battles!" I couldn't get the smile off my face. I was excited to think
about being as strong as them. As I waved them goodbye as they flew off home, I
walked into the house with Mother and Father, yet I couldn't help but think of a
way to bring up to my parents that I want to learn Dad's fighting style more
than anything, I want to be able to fight. Shόki’s POV The ride home was silent for awhile until I broke it “Oka-Sama…” I
managed call out she slightly turned to me letting me know she was listening
“James didn’t make us go in the forest I did…” I mumbled she smirked “I know,
James isn’t the type to get into mischief unlike you Shόki but I’m glad this did happen you two gave that boy a
push that he needed” she said I looked at Sháka confused as to what mother was
saying “She means we gave James courage” he whispered I nodded mumbling “oh” I
then smirked “Yeah he needs it!” I said
loudly laughing to myself “Now I heard from your grandfather that he would like
to see the both of you” mother said with a sigh “Oh! Can we?” I replied over
and over “Fine but know it’s going to cut into your training time” she muttered
me and Sháka smiled at one another waiting to see grandpa knowing he was going
to shower us with gifts and let us play with Cerberus. “Too bad I didn’t get to see my dear Rin, you trouble makers had
me so worked up that we forgot to stop by…” mom said with frown I tilted my
head and my eyebrow raised in interest “Eh who is Rin?” I asked “Isn’t she the
girl that Oto-Sama drops off Kimono’s to all the time?” Sháka asked quietly mom
nodded “Yes, she is your big sister, I guess you could say” I nodded looking up
at the sky it was the late afternoon and the sky was a dark blue “Oto-Sama can
we have a little brother?” I asked mom jolted and had a weak nervous smile on
her face “I don’t mind but I think you’d have to ask your mother” dad said with
a weird smile on his face that both Sháka and I never seen before “I’m sure you
don’t mind…” mom muttered under her breath “Well see kids well see…”she just
replied both Sháka and I were confused as to what was going on but decided not
to ask why. 3rd POV A young boy with short messy un-kept blonde hair with what seemed
as black horns on his head and face buried into his lap hiding away his golden
eyes that cried out for someone silently cried to himself, he was abandoned,
alone and had none other than himself. He sat on the hard and cold ground as happy families walked along
not even giving him but a sideways glance, he envied those kids who had parents
for he did not have anyone but himself. He always wanted to be hugged by his mother and smothered to death
until he got her stop and he always wanted his father to praise him and pat him
on the shoulder or maybe even just mess up his hair with his hands joking with
him, but how could a boy go along with this without any parents? He had no one
but himself and to see all these happy children walk along with their happy
parents made him hate everyone his anger grew and grew that somehow they turned
into his own demons that gave him strength and that boy swore on his life that
if he couldn’t have a family and feel loved and cherished and be happy than no
one else could either. “Little boy…” a voice called out to him he looked up and saw no
one all of the villagers were walking along minding their own business, so he
thought maybe he was just imaging things and made himself comfortable again by
burring his head back into his lap. “Little boy~…” the voice called to him once again the boy knew he
wasn’t imagining things this time he knew he heard that voice and it was closer
this time maybe just an inch away from his face he slowly looked up to see a
glowing dark purple orb floating an inch away from his face scared and shocked
he backed closer to the wall of an dumpling shop he was at in the back.
“W-Who are you?” the boy asked scared out of his mind thinking he
was going to die and no one was going to care or even know the orb floated
closer to him “Me?” it asked slyly the boy slowly nodded still bracing himself
against the wall staring at this purple orb floating closer to him “I am what
you envy so much, I know you hate to have no family and you wish to eliminate
all of those happy don’t you little boy?” it asked him sounding very sly and so
cunning the boy nodded “H-How did you know?” the boy asked the orb floated in a
circle “Oh I know all these cries of help but, I have decided to help you
little boy but you will need to follow my every order understand?” the orb
asked the boy nodded “Good, what shall I call you?” the boy shrugged “I don’t
have a family so I don’t have a name” “I will name you Kumori” the orb said
floating closer to the boy “Kumori…” the boy muttered liking the name letting
it sync into his brain he even liked the taste it gave saying it so he repeated
once again “But what will I call you?” the boy asked looking up at the orb “You
may call me…Naraku” he said before chuckling evilly. © 2014 Attoliia |
