Where I'll Be

Where I'll Be

A Poem by Sahm Moore

i woke up outside your gates again.
it’s not uncommon.
i’m peering through the cracks"i know each and everyone.
i’ve made myself at home out here, watching the lights dim, the shades drawn.
it used to feel like being shut out.
unsure if i’d be let back in or what i’d find if i scaled the walls.
but i know you as well as you know how to be alone.
these days, it feels like keeping watch"like protecting the tired and wounded.
i feel the same pride i feel when i call you mine.
so, please, take your time and rest easy.
you know where i’ll be.

About
As a gay kid in a small Texas town I knew I was different than a lot of my friends. I wasn't sure where or how I fit in. So, I fell in love with books and worlds I so easily drifted into. Looking back.. more..
