this is pretty existential. i take the first line to be straightforward. the second line for me is that it takes one and one to make two...my mother always says it takes two to fight. so it takes one and one to be in an argument. one person can't be in an argument by himself...it could have so many interpretations, sweetie. it matters what you think of it. very thought-provoking nonetheless.
For a critical like me, this is a thought that is worth thinking. Yes, "One is One" just like how a man and a woman is. And true, "Two is One". Just like how to hearts beat as one. Simple. Just lovely.
Wow, this is simple and complex at the same time.
Even though everybody is on their own as one, only with another they can make two and be... more.
Two amazing lines, a clever combination!
I may have interpreted this a way you were not aiming for your readers...but these two lines are actually very helpful for me with something that has been bugging me for a while.
A lot of people use analogies to describe things. Whenever my class is engaged in a session of philosophical chairs, there is almost always an analogy being used and it somewhat blows things out of proportion. With these two lines, you were able to express my opinion about analogies I face every day.
Although things may be similar (they may share the same relationship, events, etc.) there are no two things that are exactly the same. Situations vary and there will always be a different story behind each despite having the same result.
You did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing this! n__n
Stumbled on your writing by accident and quite happy that I did so!
I can't be too sure about the meaning as I come away with a lot of implications.
The first line seems to define the difference between something. It makes it a little bit straight-forward. No room for confusion. This is this. and That is that. It gets a little bit blurry in the second line... and I think of some sort of connection, union, binding, etc. Together. So it becomes this is that and that is that.
It reminds me of a relationship.
Whether rocky or smooth.
