compare my love

compare my love

A Poem by Sahar moonlight

On the sea shore You wrote my name

Waves washed it away

On the tree I carved your name

And forever it will stay

You gave me a red rose

Within days it passed away

I gave you a vase

To hold cheerful roses everyday

You wrote me a letter

Your feelings you expressed

I gave you a book

but it had no end

You say you love me

You don't know how or why

I say I adore you

Our souls embraced will raise high

You ask me one day

Who loves the other more

I close my eyes and say

Why to compare? Whats that for???

This is a great piece on unrequited love that you have written. Simple, direct, and truly heartfelt, . Your comparisons are very well penned with great imagery.

When two people are deeply in love nothing should compare!

"I gave you a book but it had no end" ......

the end contradicts the whole poem...haha :D but I loved your simple yet meaningful comparisons....a letter to a book, a rose to a vase ; simply beautiful!

A fantastic flow of ink showing us just how love in it's basic form is not something that can be defined. We simply walk with it, in it's ever evolving ways. Much Enjoyed!

I agree. you can never compare your love for one to each other. Everyone has a different idea of love, a different depth. To love is enough, to say it is meaningful. Yet to show it makes all the difference.
A beautiful expression of love Nath moonlight. thank you for the lovely message. it speaks volumes!
