Friends

 

Friends are often kind at first

You test each other out, you see

I see if I maybe like you

You see if maybe you like me.

Things go great for a month or so

You're talking, laughing, cracking wise

But maybe after a short while

They'll show to you a different guise.

A nasty crack at your expense

In front of that one girl you know

Or maybe things behind your back

That make you think, "This guy is LOW."

There are some friends that are quite good

But in my short time in this life

I've found a majority of

Friends are inclinded to give you strife.

Wow.. loved this message.. the rhythm and rhyme are great.. the truth of friendship is like hunting for a life partner.. to find those really great friendships.. is incredibly difficult. So many use people for success ladders in gossip circles.. she or he who has the best info on the other is really interesting.. this is moreso in younger years and into the late 20's but can still happen in the workplace and social cirlces at any age. Backtalking and gossip will probably never completely go away... sometimes people are expressing concern to others for their friend even and it causes commotion and the story to grow. If you have 1 or 2 "great" friends that you can tell almost anything then you are very lucky. They could still slip up though .. in weak moments to someone they think they can trust.. it's just best not to tell your most personal and deep secrets to anyone.. other than counselling if you have a real issue.. just my thoughts.
