Writer's Block

At times it seems so very hard

To think up some good thoughts,

Thoughts worthy to go on the page

This type of thoughts I've sought.

It is called Writer's Block, they say,

The writer's best arch-foe,

It's killed off many a poor soul

I'm sure that this is so.

But what if you could tame this beast,

Use it for your own ends,

What if you could protect yourself?

What if you became friends?

As you can see with this small rhyme

I've made this beast my pet,

This thing can be used for yourself

And you will see this yet.

So now I've whipped the sorry thing

But no hard feelings, friend.

'Cuz I'm sure one day coming up

I will use you again!
