Now Christmas Is Here

The season's here! It's time again

To show that we are truly friends

Let's spread goodwill towards fellow men

Now that Christmas is here.

That feeling in the air is back,

Santa is filling up his sack,

Old Kringle will not lose the knack

Now that Christmas is here.

The night before, the kids won't sleep

Try as they might to count their sheep

Santa will never make a peep

Now that Christmas is here.

On Christmas day, our dreams come true,

On this day no one will feel blue,

To dinner I will invite you

NOW THAT CHRISTMAS IS HERE!

This is a very cute, light-hearted poem. It reminds me of something I would read in an anthology of children's poetry; in no way is that intended to be an insult. Many of my favourite poems are in fact, poems written for children and I owe much of my love for literature now to the children's poetry my mother used to read to me when I was a little girl.

I did find one awkward stanza that can easily be fixed. It seems you have one too many syllables in your last stanza. The second line of this stanza sounds a little jarring to the ear. I would suggest leaving out the word "will" in the second line and changing the word "feel" to the present tense; this will allow for a better flow.

Example:

On Christmas day, our dreams come true,
On this day no one feels blue,
To dinner I will invite you
NOW THAT CHRISTMAS IS HERE!

Overall, a very nice, uplifting holiday poem.
