The Little Things...

Some of the little things that make me happy.

The Little Things

 

I hear the sound of the door opening, and it wakes me up. My Dad grins and throws something at me or says, "Wake up, retard," and I make a muffled sound and nod. I lay there for a couple of minutes and then I get up, pulling on pants. I go downstairs, and it's Monday! We're having homemade chocolate shakes.

A little thing that makes me happy.

After my portion of the shake is done, I go upstairs, shower, and brush my teeth. Then I do some study with Dad, because I'm homeschooled. I recently turned thirteen, so on purpose, I put on a show of angst. All of a sudden, while we're talking, I burst out with, "You'll never understand how it is for my generation!" My Dad snorts and says, "Nice angst."

A little thing that makes me happy.

I call my friend Cody and talk for a bit. We discuss Halo 3, girls, Rock Band, and pretty much everything in life. We both make some lewd comments about girls, then I brag about how I'm able to "five-star like frikkin' everything on medium on the Rock Band drums, dude." Then he brags about how he thinks he "can do Hard on guitar on Guitar Hero, but I'm not sure about Rock Band."

A little thing that makes me happy.

I sign on to Xbox Live and start rocking out on Rock Band. I warm myself up on a couple of fairly tough songs (Tom Sawyer, Run to the Hills, Nightmare, etc.) and then I take it online with other people. Of course, I meet up with two guys that play Expert on guitar and bass and just completely destroy Rock Band, so my achievements are rather dwarfed by theirs. Yet it sounds great when we're all whaling away together.
