The Unappreciated Nature (Aware)

This is something everybody should read and open their eyes to.

The best thing about the day

Is that we are Awake.

 

The only thing Wrong

 

Is that we don't Appreciate

 

The things that we should.

 

Have you ever noticed

 

The beauty of the Roses

 

With the morning dew on their petals?

 

Have you Ever seen the sheer beauty

 

Of a hummingbird beating its wings

 

And the beautiful color of its feathers?

 

Have you ever noticed a butterfly

 

So delicate while feeding

 

And watch their elegant wings?

 

The worst part of the day

 

Is when we are awake

 

And we don't appreciate

What we always have.

Great message. The color formatting throws off the poem. It is not a light happy piece. and therefore (IMHO) you should not dress up the words lightly. also maybe one thing to give a bit more impact. on the line
"Have you ever noticed" I would change that to a stronger statement to "I Know you have noticed","Surely you have seen the sheer beauty", "notice a butterfly"
This puts the reader on guard forcing into their head the message of the piece.

I agree with all the others when saying that it's true that we humans don't stop to take in what's around us. Maybe if we did everyone would be alittle bit more happier. I, myself, being busy and all sometimes am guilty of this crime.

I think that's really good. It's true also. We need to learn that everything was put here for a reason, which is why we should enjoy it while it's here. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of poetry.
