Taking off

Taking off

A Poem by Sage of the River
"

This describes my first take off on a plane

"
Morning comes
and I can't believe
my time to fly is here
I hop in the car
I can still only dream
the event
that's only hours away
Getting there
all I can do is stare
I don't want to blink.
The hours pass
before they finally call
"now boarding"
I eagerly get on
and take my seat.
All I can do is wait.
Then we start
to move.
My heart is pounding,
my eyes are gazing
as the plane speeds up
then with a little tilt,
we're in the air
I see my town fading.
That moment I waited for
had finally come.
My spirits soar ahead
as we take off.
