This topic is one that has fascinated me for a long time. The conscious mind, the egoic mind, is constantly shifting from the past to the future, unable to appreciate the present moment. Actually, the egoic mind may regard the present moment as death, for it doesn't seem to provide the stimulation it craves. But as the poem states, the present is where tranquility resides. This brief work could serve as a source of meditation.

I think we overthink sometimes; our minds get so cluttered; we're racing ahead for tomorrow, or looking back and regretting something. I think what we should be doing is living in the moment, and not worrying about what happened before or not anticipate tomorrow. I just wrote a poem about that based on based on a song "We've Got Tonight"... interesting
Well done!
Best, Betty

I love being in the moment concept, thinking too much of past or future, we actually miss the best moments.
Somehow, I can correlate it with what Buddhism explains about the present.
Thanks for the wonderful review N.
Yes, never look to far back, and never predict the future.
Life is day to day as the seasons pass by.

Too often we reflect on the past or look forward to the future. It is quite an art to focus on the now. We should live for the day, but I don't think many do. Thank you Safa for your poetry.

It is so true. Live for the moment do not look back to the past. When you have lived a life full of memories then reminisce. Take joy and bliss in the now. Thank you for sharing your art.
