The exotic Friends...

The exotic Friends...

A Poem by Meenakshi Dutta

From
The deadliest December to the May time
The platonic friendship kept on blooming
The Maples testify it.

In some borrowed time,
Together we hailed the gloomy nights, ecstatic
days, the rainy evenings and the comfy snowfall
And a great deal in between.
The Eyes behold it all...!!

Together, our Unbared hearts and oblivious souls
admired every shade of Tulip, from dazzling
purple to the glistening white.

Behold! The JHELUM knows all our secrets
And, I ought to share one,
Thy presence & intuitive mind saved me, no matter
when.

A beautiful dedication to your friend. It seems the friendship blossomed at a particularly difficult period of time. That's when friendships are a true blessing. When someone is there to share and to keep you company when the going gets tough. I have friends still from childhood, that is more than a blessing for me. Lovely poem with some fine imagery contained in its lines.

Deep and wonderful friendships are a blessing. Some are meant to last forever and some drift apart as life changes. I love the words in this poem about friendship blossoming like the flowers in spring. Creative and well written
