Mirror

A Poem by Saeedaullah

I look at the blue and green,
Wondering why you look so pale,
Everyday I have to watch you cut.
The silver metal slashes across your wrist
Creating new memories and new reminders.
The red liquid as bright as blood splashes
It hits the floor with a loud splash.
Why do you do this?
What has caused you so much pain?
I look down at wrist
It was identical to the person's in front of me
I look up again
It wasn't another person
I wasn't looking at another person but rather a mirror
The person who used her body as a canvas was never another person
I was the person in the mirror

This is very sad and slightly gruesome, but definitely well written.
