![]() When I was your favorite bookA Poem by SadBones![]() I made a thing![]() My cover caught your eye You swept me off the shelf so fast Without reading the warning sign When I was your favorite book You turned the page so eagerly Unfolding all the mysteries Every page was Exciting Every page was for new discoveries You were High off what I could be You read the cuts on my arms Full of intrigue What could they mean? A Damsel in distress, oh yippee. You were stuck in a fantasy Then as you went on You unraveled me entirely I was not a mystery I was a simple tragedy So you put me back I was no longer of interest The good times are always the shortest The bad times always seem to be so long When you past the perils You reach the best You were too impatient Stopped at the mess But you couldn't wait to part So you gradually lost interest You judge based on looks, Darling. And the prettiest covers Have the saddest stories The maddest stories I'm not finished being written My story is too complex I'm not a neat story, but a jumbled up mess. You only open me if you want a test. You were like a 1st grader Reading Shakespeare You just couldn't comprehend. ![]() © 2016 SadBonesReviews
