Darkly Dreaming Poet

Darkly Dreaming Poet

A Poem by Sad Penguin
"

I hide behind darkness when I really want love

"

Darkly Dreaming poet
Dreaming of affection but afraid to show it

When will you allow them in
To find others attractive isn't a sin
In fact it's where it all begins

A flash of the eye
A crack of the smile
All up to the individual to show off their style

Look in the mirror
Think things a little clearer

Things may appear worse then they really are
Maybe you'll be better tomorrow.
Maybe things aren't quite so far

The average is non existent
Inferiority a state of mind
Open up your present
Accept it in kind

The world may never understand you
You're scared of more then they can accept
Just don't let them get to you
Let it run straight through

Life is never quite clear
Its what makes it great
Do I love myself yet
Or will I continue to hate

This is not a battle I will lose
Acceptance is what I will work to choose
I'll slowly put together the clues
Finally give myself proper dues......

It's this day I hope to find you
Hair blowing in the breeze
Eyes twinkling in the distance
It puts my mind at ease

Flowers dance to the ground
Grass sways softly
My heart races wildly
I've never seen someone so lovely

Awww. I can relate to this! It's hard to open up to people when your in that dark place. .. especially to pour yourself to trust that person.. it's difficult. But there are others who do care and willing to help. =)
Wonderful write! I loved this.
