Dear Liley

Dear Liley

A Poem by Sad Penguin
"

Happy Birthday Friend! Thank you for being there when I needed you.

"

Water drips as the caverns begin to melt
A palace of tunnels
Empty.....

Among the vast white
Barefoot and becoming

With a wave of her hand
Fields of grass
The smell of spring
All within her grasp

Kids play and laugh as she looks on
Quiet and observant
Night once again becomes dawn

Harsh rain falls down
She extends her wings
With a subtle smile
Extends off the ground

Listening to the melodies few know
She dances to shelter
Pulls the petal off a rose
Watches them fade as the wind blows

The weather calms as others look in the distance
The petals hit the ground
Flowers bloom
An assortment of colors
As we all witness

She fades back into the shadows
Not with fear in her eyes
Simply a smile
She's given us joy
In such a short while
