Candlelight Dreamer

Candlelight Dreamer

A Poem by Sad Penguin
"

I'm not quite sure, but have a few guesses

"

I place my hands upon soft earth
Feeling the brittle, dancing dust
The wind carries it, putting on a show
There is beauty beyond the things that glow

My mind encapsulated by what ifs
A warm embrace as thoughts juggle to make sense
I watch trees sway violently
My mind continues to ponder silently

Hallucinations spring forth
Caressing my sanity gently
What does it all mean
Where am I
My fears manifested to life

It's cold, yet, warm
Quiet, yet, screaming
I cover my ears
Please let me be dreaming

I wrap my mind around acceptance
It's all I have left
The wind softly settles
My heart quiets during softened breaths

I look around
Puzzled by my new home
It's barren and dry
I'm forever alone
