LifeA Poem by Sacha DavisonSomeone asked me to write about life. It's such a vague topic to suggest.
We are all in this together
Each created equal Still the good sit idle We all must live with evil The shadows that the light casts Leaves the weathered weak and feeble The young still ponder dreams and Hopes higher than the tallest steeple We turn to faith for meaning Different creeds for different people With borders to divide us These lines exist not to a beetle We call this life our own Taking claim to all it's given But this life is a shared one; So pray we are forgiven For when their human masters Cannot chew what they've bitten The sympathy of the Animal Kingdom May soon appear forbidden Enslaved in our own world To the beasts we've killed and ridden To take claim to this world Requires more than has been written © 2012 Sacha DavisonAuthor's Note
