Eternalized

Eternalized

A Poem by Lala

I remember writing the first poem
Where you were the inspiration
The topic, the foundation
But the moment I wrote about you
There was no going back
I know when I'll read those pieces
Months or maybe years later
The feelings I felt then come back again
As if the poems kept them
Like food in a refrigerator
But I guess that's poetry
Working as a translator
Turning struggles into art
In those moments I just didn't realize
When I immortalized you on paper
I unknowingly eternalized you in my heart
And I could rip those pages apart
But you will always stay in that place
In my soul with your own section
And despite my objection
I could never erase that connection
