Seasons; what can I say

You come in four different shades

You're the only certainty in life

Everything else is bound to fade

Although you come and go

I know you'll always stay

Seasons oh seasons, when I think about you

I think about all we've been through

During Spring it is life you bring

Including mine because then I was born

For me you made the birds sing

Gave a thorn to every rose

Grass to all the meadows

But soon all this would decompose 

Your Autumn leafs paint a colorful ground

Once connected to trees now earthbound

Weather during this season defies all reason

One moment it rains then the sun shines

It makes no sense, defeats all guidelines

It changes often and just like Autumn

My emotions don't make any sense either

Your Summer warmth provides joy

And for me also memories of being carefree

It's one of your sides I love most to see

But I also find beauty in your Winter snow

In my heart I hold your cold dear

Maybe sometimes I keep it a little too near 

So that it's cold I myself appear

Seasons oh seasons, when I think about you

I think about all we've been through

I watched you go, you watched me grow

I am me because of you

And this shall continue 

With you forever in my view

I know you'll never disappear, I know I will

But for now I am still here 

And I cannot wait to continue watching your show

And experience the life you shall bestow
