Questioning Maybe's

Questioning Maybe's

A Poem by Lala

Maybe everything I say makes no sense
Until someone listens and understands
Maybe my written words are just ink
Until someone reads what I think
Maybe my smile is just a simple curve
Until someone will watch it and observe
Maybe there is no sound of my laughter
Until someone hears the echo that comes after
Maybe my eyes are only pupils
Until someone looks and sees jewels
Maybe my tears are just water like rain
Until someone notices my underlying pain
Maybe the only thing keeping me alive is my heart
Until someone sees it as more than a body part
Maybe I cannot love completely
Until someone wants to love me
Maybe I can only be who I am
Until I find someone who gives a damn
Maybe my existence cannot really exist
Until someone sees in me someone to be missed
Maybe I can only live in this earthly dimension
Until someone cares enough to pay attention
