A Poem by Lala

Enjoying each other's company
Always felt wonderfully comfortably
But suddenly it was no longer enough
He began giving in to his thoughts
The desire to dig into the rough stuff
She knew him, he didn't know her
Together they were, yet so far apart
He didn't know where to start
So he just began without a plan
With a question to get an impression
Of how she became the way she is now

He asked; why don't you talk to anyone?
Yes I hear your voice but when you speak
The conversation is done before it even begun
What you say is always a conscious choice
But why don't you just speak your mind?
What happens if you leave all that nonsense behind?
I suppose that's a part of your myth
To not mention the issues you deal with
I know you'd rather just not feel
But ignoring emotions don't make them less real
It's your created situation but it's far from ideal
He felt that her presence became apprehensive
Remained quiet as she was pensive
Finding words so she could explain
How this all played out in her brain

She said well, if you don't ask I don't tell
I've been fine living in my shell
I've been good doing things alone
Sitting on the throne of my own kingdom
One comprised of my personal wisdom
I know this can be destructive
But sharing has always been unproductive
Wrong replies, uninterested eyes
Is the root of my disguise and deep sighs
I might try if you are inquisitive
But I gave up on taking initiative
So why don't I talk you wonder?
I became silent because no one asked
Nobody wanted to get into my head
Instead I just waited until time passed
Because I knew my pain wouldn't last
And that's the world I created for myself
I chose to live with such a system
But I guess you don't understand this position
He said listen, I respect your decision
Who am I to judge that vision
I just wish I had your permission
To step on your land for an expedition
To hold your hand and go on a mission
To find the definition of your conflicts
It might hit you like a ton of bricks
And to this there's no quick fix
But just let your worries escape your lips
Don't hold back or create a diversion
Give me the raw and uncut version
So I can love you as a perfectly imperfect person

Both said nothing and silence prevailed
Only inhaled and exhaled breaths they took
A quiet discussion with no interruption
Using body language instead of the alphabet
And when their their eyes met
They could forget the world around
Neither had to make a sound
All that mattered was that one look
It was a silent song only souls can sing
Provided peace only this kind of nothingness can bring
It was simply the kind of nothing that meant everything
