Dancing With The DevilA Poem by LalaWhenever we share a moment It must come to an end I can't extend the time we spend But what makes it so tough Is knowing this time is not enough Because when we part ways Once again your hell will blaze I told you not to feel alone when I left But I'm never lonely you said Because every time you leave My demons will come back And that messes with my head I would care for you like no one could Make your heart feel the way it should I cannot solve all your problems But I won't let you face them alone Wishing I knew what I could do To help find some peace for you What I can say when I can't stay To help you get through the day The only way I know how Is to write this right now Something for you to read When I close the door behind me Nobody is perfect, neither am I Not good with my emotions Can't describe them so I hide them It's a language I find hard to speak But for you I'd walk along the alphabet Spend all my time to gather every letter Find, combine and align them To create the words you need In order to make you feel better I'm not good with cleaning my mess And I hate living with uncertainty I don't know how to fix this personally But for you I'd wash your sins away Sweep up all of your doubts Dust off the hidden thoughts You keep on a mental shelf So I can help you connect the dots In order to make you love yourself This approach however makes it seem Reaching inner peace is only a dream But life is not solely a struggle It's how you juggle the pieces of its puzzle It's your dark side that should be freed To achieve the harmony you need Be open about the pieces that are broken Just talk and leave nothing unspoken During bad times I won't disappear When this happens I'll be right here Listening to the sound of your darkness Will be like music to my ears This melody will mean the world to me Because finally you won't suffer silently And not only can our angels be together on cloud nine But your demons will also be able to dance with mine © 2017 Lala |
