Leftover Love

I have all this love inside of me

But where is it supposed to go

How can I set it free

When it is you who I can no longer see

I have all this love I want to give

But only one person I want to give it to

I just don't know how I can live

Because that person is gone and it is you

What do I do with this abundance of love

That you were not able to receive

What do I do with the remains I cannot get rid of

As I am confronted with feelings of grief

You are missed because it is you who I lost

You are gone but the love remained

To the other side you have crossed

But in my mind you are still ingrained 

This love belonged to you

So I don't think I can ever give it away

Because it allows your presence to continue

And I can keep you close to me every single day
